From support comes healing

Having a solid support network is a must-have for everyone, from introverts to extroverts and all the eccentrics in the middle. A support network can be as simple as a significant other or family member, or stretch as far as a community group and neighbors. People innately crave social interaction, even if it is only in small doses. When life is stressful just knowing that you have someone to talk to can significantly help with the stress. Great friends are treasures that are not found everyday! So, remember with the upcoming holiday weekend to find time to enjoy the special people in your life.

How true. And while we all find ourselves in the position of need at times, I can’t help but think of that Gandhi quote ‘you must be the change you wish to see in the world.’ Even just being there for someone can be very powerful, if we are truly present. So it seems to me it can be even simpler than social interaction, no doubt many of us have met people who are just enjoyable to be around, their very presence can have a healing effect. What if everyone can be that way for each other?
