Weight Loss and Food Sensitivities

Let’s bring in the New Year with all that is good and wholly.  So with all good New Year’s traditions and resolutions, we must tip our hat to the repeated notion of weight loss and improved health for the upcoming year.  Understanding how this can become the ‘thing’ to do during January and February for many people and why we often experience limited or unimpressive results is explored in this blog.

Looking at it from a clinical perspective, it is often helpful to consider related medical conditions that can interfere with reaching your goals not to mention take the wind out of your sails with frustration.  As we have noted in previous newsletters and blogs, hormones and the detoxification process are instrumental in our weight loss success.  Another contributing aspect to successful weight loss and improved vitality and wellbeing is our relationship with food and its potential activation to inappropriate immune responses.

With one out of three people stating they have a food sensitivity or allergy, it stands to reason that you may not be alone.  It is estimated that two thirds of our immune system resides in our gut, so its role in our overall health cannot be overstated and should be considered if you have a history of difficult weight loss.  Remember, our immune system dictates what to be tolerant of and what not to be tolerant of.  So with an inappropriate immune response to food, we experience an inflammatory reaction that interferes with other biological processes and can limit our weight loss efforts.

At Revolutions Natural Medical Solutions we use a variety of evaluation measures to assessing an individual’s potential food allergy or sensitivity.  Once the offending food item(s) has been identified, one can adjust their dietary efforts towards weight loss with an individualized consideration and focus.  In addition, test results can provide insight into gastrointestinal health, a common roadblock to successful weight loss.
